Starting a business is very challenging in every aspect as it requires a lot of effort, energy, time, and money. If you’re managing a start-up and considering to get a reliable partner to help your business grow, succeed and reach more consumers, you’re on the right page. Talk about vinegars and most people might know only the obvious things, including its uses such as a condiment and preservative. The word vinegar comes from the Old French vinaigre, which means “sour wine.” It is a sour liquid that is made by fermenting diluted alcohol products. It can be manufactured from a variety of liquids, including malted barley, rice, and cider. A wide variety of vinegars has been created over the centuries and around the world. It continues being an important ingredient in many traditional cuisines and also serves its functions for cleaning purposes.
One of the largest vinegar manufacturers in the Philippines is Philippine Aslam Corporation, or referred to as Aslam. The brand name is a Kapampangan word which means vinegar, that highlights the origin of the business. With almost 40 years of producing industrial vinegar, many large companies as well as SMEs have trusted Aslam as their food solutions provider. About 3.7 million liters of 10% acid vinegar is produced per month using the company’s 18 units of Acetators. Commitment and excellence in services have always been practiced to ensure that the needs of clients are met.
It is Aslam’s pride and pleasure to be the leading manufacturer of industrial vinegar in the country. Thus, its mission to maintain its position in the industry is continuously achieved without sacrificing the products’ quality. Among the three flavors it offers are Cane Vinegar, Coconut Tuba, and Sukang Iloko.
Our specialty – Cane Vinegar
Cane Vinegar is the most common type of vinegar in the Philippines. Because of the country’s abundance in sugar cane, this flavor is popular and even the best-selling product. Aslam manufactures this vinegar to many large companies not just in the country but overseas. A lot of people love its taste because of its mildness that is perfect for pickling ingredients or making sauces. Cane Vinegar can last up to two years without unpleasant odor.
A milder variant – Coconut Tuba
Coconut Tuba, another type of vinegar from Aslam, is made by fermenting the sap of the coconut tree. Its taste is milder than the apple cider vinegar and is commonly used to cook favorite Filipino dishes. This is also an ideal vinegar in creating a spiced condiment called sinamak with an addition of chilies, garlic, onion, ginger, black pepper and salt.
The organical vinegar – Sukang Iloko
Made from organically fermented sugarcane vinegar, Sukang Iloko is a light and sweet vinegar with a distinct taste. It is best used with Filipino dishes like adobo and paksiw. This vinegar is named after Ilocos region where it is traditionally made. What Ilocanos do with a Sukang Iloko is a condiment for empanadas.
